The ESA-VSC European High Power Space Materials Laboratory is specialized on investigating novel materials and surface treatments that could enhance the RF power capabilities in modern satellites. When testing High Power RF components, a fast and exhaustive study of the materials properties is required for a successful diagnostic. In this laboratory, physics and engineering merge to mitigate these destructive phenomena. An additional asset of this Laboratory is the know-how of the team as well as the diagnostic capabilities which are essential in mitigating the destructive phenomena. |

The laboratory relies on one ISO 8 – 100,000 class – clean room with a total working area of 75 m2. This modern laboratory is complementary to the ESA-VSC European High Power RF Space Laboratory inaugurated in June 2010. Being part of the ESA’s RF Payload Systems Division laboratories, the European High Power Space Materials Laboratory guarantees full confidentiality of the test results. |
